Maurice Landers' Book Drive

08/07/2016 to 12/10/2016
Prosper TX

We are working with the African Library Project to provide books to eager readers in Africa who have very few books. Please help us by collecting and delivering gently used books or by raising money to help pay for shipping to Africa. It takes only 1000 books and $500 (plus a little elbow grease!) to start a single library and make a huge difference in children’s lives.

This book drive is organized by ...

I am Maurice Landers, a student at Prosper High School in Prosper, TX. I have been blessed to live in America and to have been raised in a great community like Prosper. I would like to give back so I started this book drive to provide reading materials for people less fortunate

We want to start a library in Africa because...

I believe that education can be a great equalizer. It is something that my parents stressed to us at an early age. I love to read and understand how books can expand a child’s imagination beyond their current environment. The opportunity to be able to assist in providing an education to a community that would cherish it is a blessing.

Please contribute these kinds of books...

We are building a community library. That means we accept any books from a pre-school to 8th grade reading level. We also accept textbooks, how-to books, and educational game/puzzles.

We need to raise funds for shipping the books...

Money can be donated directly to African Library Project using the book drive code K1-16 through online donations .
