Stamford Book Drive

06/14/2016 to 09/30/2016
Stamford CT

We are working with the African Library Project to provide books to eager readers in Africa who have very few books. Please help us by collecting and delivering gently used books or by raising money to help pay for shipping to Africa. It takes only 1000 books and $500 (plus a little elbow grease!) to start a single library and make a huge difference in children’s lives.

This book drive is organized by ...

Inspired by another family's story of service, we fell in love with the African Library Project. GrowGiveGood centers around teaching children to serve and be kind. We look for ways for families with young children to help in their families, communities, and the world. This book drive exemplified so much of what we try to do: simple acts of service that build up into something grand.

We want to start a library in Africa because...

"I want to help get books so kids who live in Africa can read and find stories they love. My favorite book is Harry Potter and I want other kids to discover how fun reading books is. My favorite thing is learning new stuff and non fiction books teach that stuff. I hope to get all kinds of books like nonfiction and funny stories for the kids in Botswana." - Luke (Age 7)

About our African Partners...

Here's how you can contribute your books...

We will set up permanent drop off locations, but until then, please contact me for pick up or drop off

We need to raise funds for shipping the books...

We also need to raise funds to send these books to Africa. Any donation (of any amount) would be very appreciated. You can even help by doing simple things to raise money...You can host a lemonade stand, bake sale, or car wash and donate funds directly to our Go Fund Me page at . If you would prefer to donate with a check, please contact me at

Here are some ways that you can help...

Another HUGE way to help is simply by spreading the word! Post a link on Facebook to this page or our Go Fund Me Page. Post on Instagram pictures of the books you have collected to donate. Every post helps to build the library and may even inspire others to start another African Library from their hometown.
