Carson Family Kenya Library Book Drive

06/08/2016 to 12/01/2016
Monrovia MD

We are working with the African Library Project to provide books to eager readers in Africa who have very few books. Please help us by collecting and delivering gently used books or by raising money to help pay for shipping to Africa. It takes only 1000 books and $500 (plus a little elbow grease!) to start a single library and make a huge difference in children’s lives.

This book drive is organized by ...

We are a family who LOVES to read! We want to help children have the opportunity to read and have access to books by building a Primary Community Library in Kenya. We need to collect 1000 books and raise $500 for shipping. With your help we will be able to accomplish this goal.

We want to start a library in Africa because...

We want to give books to those who need them but those who don't have access to a library. We also want to share our love of reading with the world. We realize that there is a great need for a library in Africa and we think we can help.

About our African Partners...

We will be collecting books for a primary library in Kenya. We have been given an African Partner school. We will be collecting books for the God Jope Primary School in Suna-Migori, Kenya. The library will be used by the primary school and also made available to the community.

Please contribute these kinds of books...

We will be collecting 2/3 preschool-4th grade books, 1/3 4th-8th grade books.

Many in the community are involved in agribusinesses, so books on farming, agribusiness management, finance, etc. could be helpful to the community.

The school has requested that we try to collect books in the following categories:
storybooks (300)
English Language (200)
Mathematics (200)
Science (200)
