Angelina Mah's African Library Project

05/01/2015 to 10/01/2015
San Francisco CA

We are working with the African Library Project to provide books to eager readers in Africa who have very few books. Please help us by collecting and delivering gently used books or by raising money to help pay for shipping to Africa. It takes only 1000 books and $500 (plus a little elbow grease!) to start a single library and make a huge difference in children’s lives.

This book drive is organized by ...

Hi! My name is Angelina Mah and I believe that every child should deserve a chance to receive a better education. By hosting this book drive for a library in Africa, I hope to spread the opportunity for children to learn there.

We want to start a library in Africa because...

Children in Africa aren't able to receive a proper education from lack of appropriate educational help. Here in the U.S, we are able to expand our knowledge from over the hundred thousand libraries we have. If we are able to able to increase our literacy from the variety of books here, children in Africa should have the opportunity to learn in a library too.

About our African Partners...

Our project is in Sierra Leone for Evangelical Agric SS School. This project is exciting, since this is the only book drive matched with this school. The Evangelical Agric SS School accounts for 1,500 students, but unfortunately only has 200 books to provide for the students. The school has come a long way with improvement over the years from 50 books to 200 books and 3 tables to 6 tables. With the help of the project, we will be able to provide a book for each student with extra to read. By having a library with books to provide for students, they will be able to "play a role of leadership and accountability." The Evangelical Agric SS School would be beyond grateful for a library that can spread knowledge to students.
