African Library Project

Sierra Leone Primary Library Dream Delivery

03/11/2019 to 10/15/2019
Tenafly NJ

We are working with the African Library Project to provide books to eager readers in Africa who have very few books. Please help us by collecting and delivering gently used books or by raising money to help pay for shipping to Africa. It takes only 1000 books and $500 (plus a little elbow grease!) to start a single library and make a huge difference in children’s lives.

This book drive is organized by ...

Hello! We are Heejeong Yang and Michelle Lee, current students in Tenafly, NJ. We desire to spread the enjoyment of learning through pages and hope to share it with as many children as needed. Because books don't grow on trees, we are sure that a little push from us highschoolers will be enough to help even a handful of children read the books they deserve to read. Our members also include Jihyun, Jisoo, and Jiahn, local elementary school at Tenafly.

We want to start a library in Africa because...

We firmly believe that every child should have equal access to books and reading for both enjoyment and learning. We are adamant on the idea that the dreams of children can grow and be inspired through the transfer of information and stories. Spreading the joy of books does exactly that. We hope to provide children with beautiful, fun books as well as education materials. Imagine the smiles that would spread across the children's faces, the laughter they would let out as they read, feel, and see the colorful children books!

About our African Partners...

Our African Library Partner is the Christian Life Era Salvation Nursery & Preparatory School in Sierra Leone. We are the only book drive matched with this school and they are thrilled that we are helping them!
