Mimi's Sierra Leone Library Project

We are working with the African Library Project to provide books to eager readers in Africa who have very few books. Please help us by collecting and delivering gently used books or by raising money to help pay for shipping to Africa. It takes only 1000 books and $500 (plus a little elbow grease!) to start a single library and make a huge difference in children’s lives.

Hello! My name is Mimi Alloway, and I am collecting books to start a library in Sierra Leone.

We want to start a library in Africa because...

I've always loved books, and I've always wanted to do something good for the world. Then I found out about the African Library Project, and it gave me a chance to do something good for the world with books.

About our African Partners...

I am starting a library in Sierra Leone. I am starting a mostly primary library, with some secondary books. I am starting a library for a school.

Please contribute these kinds of books...

I need mainly books from a preschool-4th grade level, and some books from a 4th-8th grade level.

Here's how you can contribute your books...

If you are able to contribute books and are unsure about how to do that, contact mimireadergirl@gmail.com or maxsacks@gmail.com between May 3rd and October 15th.

We need to raise funds for shipping the books...

If you are able to contribute money and are unsure about how to do that, contact mimireadergirl@gmail.com or maxsacks@gmail.com between May 3rd and October 15th.

Here are some ways that you can help...

If you can, contribute books or money. If you can't, get the word out to others about my Sierra Leone Library Project.
