African Library Project

Oster Elementary School / Dartmouth Middle School Book Drive

03/01/2019 to 03/29/2019
San Jose CA

We are working with the African Library Project to provide books to eager readers in Africa who have very few books. Please help us by collecting and delivering gently used books or by raising money to help pay for shipping to Africa. It takes only 1000 books and $500 (plus a little elbow grease!) to start a single library and make a huge difference in children’s lives.

This book drive is organized by ...

This book drive is an Eagle Scout Project for Jonathan Brink from Troop 577 in San Jose, CA. He is a former student at both schools.

Please contribute these kinds of books...

Help spread knowledge in the country of Malawi in Africa. Please donate your new or gently used books for kids in Kindergarten through 8th grade.

Here's how you can contribute your books...

At Oster, you can drop off your books in the boxes outside the front office.

At Dartmouth, you can leave your books in the boxes in the classrooms of Ms. Baum, Ms. Crocker, Ms. Kennedy and Ms. Sweet or in the front office.

We need to raise funds for shipping the books...

We will be conducting a fundraiser at a local restaurant to raise money to pay for shipping the books to Malawi in Africa.
