African Library Project

JFK Memorial Human Rights Club Book Drive!

01/06/2017 to 03/24/2017
Iselin NJ

The African Library Project brings gently used books to an African community that has lots of eager readers but very few books. Please help by collecting and delivering gently used books or by raising money to help pay for shipping to Africa. It only takes 1000 books and $500 to start a single library (and a little elbow grease!)

This book drive is organized by ...

As the Human Rights International Club at JFK Memorial High School

We want to start a library in Africa because...

Everyone in this world deserves the ability to read. By starting a library in Africa we intend to assist those in need on their path to literacy.

About our African Partners...

We are partnering with Akumfi Ameyaw SHTS school in Ghana. It is a secondary technical school which teaches over 2000 students. This library will benefit all of them, and help them grow as well.

Please contribute these kinds of books...

All books are accepted but please try to donate books suitable for children through grades 3 through 8.
You can also donate educational games and puzzles.
School textbooks (ranging from grades 3 to 8), books about science, and dictionaries have been especially requested by the Akumfi Ameyaw SHTS school.
They are also in need of teacher resource materials such as books, lesson plans, posters and games aimed at improving teaching.
