We are working with the African Library Project to provide books to eager readers in Africa who have very few books. Please help us by collecting and delivering gently used books or by raising money to help pay for shipping to Africa. It takes only 1000 books and $500 (plus a little elbow grease!) to start a single library and make a huge difference in children’s lives.

Hello and welcome to the Kavula Nthenga Primary School book drive web page! I am a freshman in high school who is looking to make a difference in the lives of young children who do not have the same opportunities as I do. Books are an important influence in my life and I remember how important reading was in my early education. I hope these students will gain my love of reading through this donation.

We want to start a library in Africa because...

I would like to start a library in Africa because education and reading are two of the most important things in life, in my opinion. Building this library will provide books to over 1,000 students in need, which is a big deal.To be one person and be able to make that kind of change shows me how lucky I am and makes me remember to give back.

About our African Partners...

The Kavula Nthenga Primary School in Malawi is for students in Preschool-4th Grade.

Please contribute these kinds of books...

Books at U.S. pre-school to 4th grade reading level and any educational games or puzzles.

Here's how you can contribute your books...

You can send or drop off books, educational games, and puzzles to my home address at: 1933 44th ave SW 98116 Seattle, WA. Or I can arrange to pick them up. You can call me at: 206-753-9362 or you can email me at: GrantG19@lakesideschool.org

We need to raise funds for shipping the books...

My plans for making the money to ship the books are to work in my community doing yard work, pet-sitting, painting, pressure washing, and any other odd jobs that come my way. Hey, do you have any jobs for me?

Here are some ways that you can help...

The best way to help me is to collect as many books as you can from your family, friends, and any organization that you belong to. You can also help me raise funds for shipping all 1,000 books to Malawi.
