Country Day School's African Library Project

11/02/2015 to 12/04/2015
Largo FL

We are working with the African Library Project to provide books to eager readers in Africa who have very few books. Please help us by collecting and delivering gently used books or by raising money to help pay for shipping to Africa. It takes only 1000 books and $500 (plus a little elbow grease!) to start a single library and make a huge difference in children’s lives.

This book drive is organized by ...

Country Day School, located in Pinellas County, Florida.
We are a nationally and internationally recognized school with a comprehensive curriculum for students age one through 8th grade. The academic program embraces best practices from Montessori and preparatory approaches to education.

We want to start a library in Africa because...

We want to give the gift of literacy to our fellow human beings in Africa. Every person deserves a comprehensive education and we hope to help make a small contribution towards making our world a better place by brightening the lives of children in Africa.

About our African Partners...

Our African Library partner in Botswana is John Phooko Primary School. It is a preschool through eighth grade school. This school is located in the Central North region of Botswana and has 587 students and 20 teachers.

Please contribute these kinds of books...

We are looking for 1,000 gently used books:
2/3 of the books should be at preschool-4th grade books and 1/3 at 4th-8th grade level.
