African Library Project

Brooke's African Library Destination

03/11/2014 to 05/23/2014
Castle Pines CO

We are working with the African Library Project to provide books to eager readers in Africa who have very few books. Please help us by collecting and delivering gently used books or by raising money to help pay for shipping to Africa. It takes only 1000 books and $500 (plus a little elbow grease!) to start a single library and make a huge difference in children’s lives.

This book drive is organized by ...

I am a 12 year old girl who is determined and persistent and willing to lend a helping hand and make a change. I hope this book drive helps struggling Africans with literacy. Please join in, as we help encourage and change the lives of children in Africa through literacy.

We want to start a library in Africa because...

I feel like this will help me realize what a privilege it is to read and write, and I want students all over the world to be able to read and write, no matter what age. I feel this will cause change, you know the saying, " A thousand miles starts with one step." I could be that one step, and with people supporting me, we can make change. Life is all about lending help, support, and affection, that is just what these Africans need.

Make sure you have a plan, keep things organized, and remember to have fun! Another helpful thing for me was creating a facebook page asking to donate, etc.
