Falmouth MA

We are working with the African Library Project to provide books to eager readers in Africa who have very few books. Please help us by collecting and delivering gently used books or by raising money to help pay for shipping to Africa. It takes only 1000 books and $500 (plus a little elbow grease!) to start a single library and make a huge difference in children’s lives.

We want to start a library in Africa because...

Everyone can make a difference! We'd like to teach our children that THEY can make a huge impact on the world around them. We are so lucky to have so many resources at our fingertips ~ We treasure our local libraries and use them frequently. It is our hope to provide books (& opportunity) to those that need them!

About our African Partners...

Our library will be shipped to 4M Primary School in Mafoimba, Sierra Leone.

Please contribute these kinds of books...

For a primary school library: Books at pre-school to 4th grade reading level

- Easy readers
- Children's picture books
- Early chapter books
- K-6 textbooks (English, Math, Geography, & Science)--just one copy of each
- Encyclopedias & Atlases (post 2000)
- Paperback dictionaries
- Teaching Resources

Here's how you can contribute your books...

Please drop-off your gently used books at any one of our three donation sites:

- Mullen Hall Elementary School (*near front desk/library)

- Eight Cousins Bookstore, downtown Falmouth (*inside front entry)

- Falmouth Public Library (*inside Katharine Lee Bates Rd. entrance, lower level)

**Arrangements can also be made for pick-up within 15 miles of Falmouth, MA. Please email me! (ali.brodet@gmail.com)

We need to raise funds for shipping the books...

Shipping the books will cost around $300.00 to get the books to a central warehouse in New Orleans. An additional $300.00 must be provided to the African Library Project to cover shipping from New Orleans to Africa. If you would like to donate towards shipping, please contact me at ali.brodet@gmail.com
