Westmont High School Creative Writing Club African Library Project Book Drive

02/09/2014 to 05/17/2014
Campbell CA

We are working with the African Library Project to provide books to eager readers in Africa who have very few books. Please help us by collecting and delivering gently used books or by raising money to help pay for shipping to Africa. It takes only 1000 books and $500 (plus a little elbow grease!) to start a single library and make a huge difference in children’s lives.

This book drive is organized by ...

We are a club composed of 10-15 creative individuals who seem to have an unhealthy infatuation with the written word, so much so that we like to craft our own stories and poems

We want to start a library in Africa because...

We are a club who loves to read as much as we love to write. We cannot imagine growing up without the written word filling our minds with stories and knowledge; reading has made us who we are. Through this book drive, we want to give children in Malawi the opportunity to experience the wonders contained within the pages of many, many books and hopefully make an impact on the world by having an opportunity to commit their own words to paper.
