Kathy and Linda's African Library Project

10/13/2013 to 11/30/2013
Westfield and Chatham NJ

We are working with the African Library Project to provide books to eager readers in Africa who have very few books. Please help us by collecting and delivering gently used books or by raising money to help pay for shipping to Africa. It takes only 1000 books and $500 (plus a little elbow grease!) to start a single library and make a huge difference in children’s lives.

This book drive is organized by ...

Kathy O'Brien and Linda Mellina have worked together for the past three years as instructors at The Bar Method in Summit New Jersey. Both Kathy and Linda are busy moms of three and when they are not helping their clients achieve their fitness goals, you can find them curled up with a good book!

We want to start a library in Africa because...

Our own children have mini-libraries of their own on the bookshelves in their rooms. How blessed we are that access to books, whether as a literary escape or an educational tool, has always been available to us and our children. The same cannot be said for the children in Botswana, where being literate in English is key to getting a good job.

Every book donated is a treasure to a child in Botswana and whether you give one book or several, your donation is an opportunity for children to begin their journey of learning. It is that easy to make such a tremendous impact on the lives, and the futures, of these kids.

About our African Partners...

The donated books will be sent to fill a new library for the Motetshwane Primary School located in the Serowe South Central region of Botswana.

Please contribute these kinds of books...
