Reading Rainbow for Children in Africa - Again!

02/15/2016 to 06/01/2016
Short Hills NJ

The African Library Project brings gently used books to an African community that has lots of eager readers but very few books. Please help by collecting and delivering gently used books or by raising money to help pay for shipping to Africa. It only takes 1000 books and $500 to start a single library (and a little elbow grease!)

This book drive is organized by ...

I'm a nine year old and I go to fourth grade at Glenwood Elementary School in Short Hills, NJ. I love to read books! This is my third year for the bookdrive. I am very excited to participate in the bookdrive every year.

We want to start a library in Africa because...

It is very sad that not everyone gets to read books in world. I want to help by donating books to all children so that they can read books. Books are funny and have hilarious stories too sometimes. We have so many books available in public and school libraries and we've a choice here which book to read as per our interest. We can read books on which famous movies are made or sometimes books from the TV shows. The choices we get in US to read books are abundant. Almost every town has a public library on top of the school library. However its not the same in other parts of the world. The resources are very limited. The funds the school have to provide all children variety of books are also very limited. My commitment to provide them 1000 books every year will help to spread the education in the world where children are very poor and does not enjoy the same privileges like we do.
