The African Library Project brings gently used books to an African community that has lots of eager readers but very few books. Please help by collecting and delivering gently used books or by raising money to help pay for shipping to Africa. It only takes 1000 books and $500 to start a single library (and a little elbow grease!)

This book drive is organized by ...

We are 5 Girl Scout troops from 1st grade to 5th grade. Every year we all do a service project to help our community. Last year we did a shoe drive for Share Your Soles, and this year we chose to collect books for a school in Botswana, Africa.

We want to start a library in Africa because...

We all really enjoy reading. We feel that it is important to sometimes take a break and travel to different or imaginary places by simply reading a book. We think it is important to share this experiance withh other people around the world.

About our African Partners...

We are helping Our Lady of Carmel Primary School in Botswana open a library at their school. Please help us get 1,000 books to them!

Please contribute these kinds of books...

pre-school to 4th grade reading level, preferably paper back books.

Here's how you can contribute your books...

There will be boxes for book donations at Alexander Graham Bell School. The boxes will be at the main entrance, south and north entrances too.

Here are some ways that you can help...

you can donate books yourself, and/or you can tell others about the book drive.
