Syosset High School National Art Honor Society's African Library Project

09/24/2012 to 03/18/2013
Syosset NY

We are working with the African Library Project to provide books to eager readers in Africa who have very few books. Please help us by collecting and delivering gently used books or by raising money to help pay for shipping to Africa. It takes only 1000 books and $500 (plus a little elbow grease!) to start a single library and make a huge difference in children’s lives.

This book drive is organized by ...

Through National Art Honor Society, Syosset High School is creating a library to give to those who have less than we do. We have access to so many books and want to be able to share them with children who do not have this accessibility.
FOR SYOSSET COMMUNITY ONLY

About our African Partners...

We will be creating a community (preschool - 8th grade) library in Ghana. We will be matched with a specific village in December.

Please contribute these kinds of books...

We need PAPERBACK books at US preschool - 8th grade reading level. We will only be accepting paperback books so we can keep our shipping costs to a minimum.

Here's how you can contribute your books...

We will have a collection box outside the student lobby of the high school. If you are in National Art Honor Society, be sure to bring your books to Ms. Protonentis in her office to make sure you get points for the books you donate.

Here are some ways that you can help...

We are going to have two bake sales. The first is November 13-16 and the second is December 10-14. See Mrs. P to sign up to sell during a free period or to bring in baked goods. :)
