The African Library Project brings gently used books to an African community that has lots of eager readers but very few books. Please help by collecting and delivering gently used books or by raising money to help pay for shipping to Africa. It only takes 1000 books and $500 to start a single library (and a little elbow grease!)

This book drive is organized by ...

I'm Sahil Shah. I'm 12 years old and soon to be 13! This is my fifth year with African Project Library to donate books to Africa. As part of my 13th birthday, I am running this book drive to build a library for children of Africa. I love to read as it gives me ability to think beyond my imagination. It gives me knowledge about facts and takes me to different places in the world! Every year in Spring I look forward to doing the book drive. Since I've been doing year after year even people that I know at my after-school clubs and activities ask me when is your book drive so that they can donate books. My friends and family help me to spread the word.

We want to start a library in Africa because...

It is important to do this book drive so that we can help children in other parts of the world by giving them the gift of reading. I felt very sad when I came to know that not all children in the world have the access to books as we do. We've library in school and in our town where we can easily get books that we would like to read. It will be nice if you could donate your old and gently used books to these children so that we all can help children in Africa.

Here's how you can contribute your books...

If you have many books to donate, please do not hesitate to email us and we will pick up from your house within NJ!
If you need to ship the book to us please contact us at above number and we will give you the mailing address. Please remember to ship via media mail as it is cheaper.
Please spread the words to your friends and family for this good cause and help me reach my goal!

We need to raise funds for shipping the books...

For donations please use the code SL4-16 so that the funds can be donated to support the shipping cost for my library.
