African Library Project

Village View Brownie Troop 5226

12/12/2018 to 02/26/2019
Huntington Beach CA

We are working with the African Library Project to provide books to eager readers in Africa who have very few books. Please help us by collecting and delivering gently used books or by raising money to help pay for shipping to Africa. It takes only 1000 books and $500 (plus a little elbow grease!) to start a single library and make a huge difference in children’s lives.

This book drive is organized by ...

A spunky group of second grade Brownie Scouts who live in Huntington Beach, California.

We want to start a library in Africa because...

We are happy to be able to share books that have been gifted to us and we have loved to read in the past.

About our African Partners...

We are collecting books for a school in Botswana.

Please contribute these kinds of books...

Books at pre-school to 2nd grade reading level

Here's how you can contribute your books...

Books can be dropped off with any of our troop members parents
or in the office at Village View Elementary.
If local, We can also do a porch pick up between December 12th-Feb 26th
Please no musical toy books, Disney or thick heavy books.

We need to raise funds for shipping the books...

We need to raise $118 for more shipping the books. If you would like to contribute
please contact Brooke. We haven't come up with another fundraising idea yet but will let you all know soon. We will be spreading the news during our 2019 Girl Scout Cookie Sales

Here are some ways that you can help...

Please let us know if you have medium size sturdy boxes or packing tape to contribute.
